This is a collection of 25 news stories that characters could discover whilst researching, or as a just-purchased newspaper. They can be used as red herrings, misinformation or adventure hooks. The stories may have perfectly rational explanations or be a sign of something strange going on.

Perhaps the best use of the stories would be to print them out so that they resemble an actual newspaper clipping and used as handouts.

Green Fire in the Industrial District

Firefighters were called to an abandoned warehouse in the industrial district after a fire was reported in the early hours of the morning. Those at the scene of the incident reported that the flames were burning green, and allegedly more difficult to extinguish than normal. Afterwards, investigators stated that there were some uncommon substances stored in the warehouse, and sometimes fires do burn with unusual colours due to what is being burnt. However, some claimed that the fire’s colours were far too unusual to be explained that way, as the flames were completely green, rather than being green-tinged, and no known substances have that effect on flames.
