100 Encounters for the Fantasy Taiga (Lore 100)

100 Encounters for the Fantasy Taiga (Lore 100)

100 Encounters for the Fantasy Taiga (Lore 100)Taiga is cold land though not always arctic, mostly lowland and sometimes tundra. It’s lowland and often flat.

This supplement has 100 encounters suitable for such land that can be used to enliven a journey or as a source of potential adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

87. The trees here are clearly (an Easy Forestry roll) young and if undergrowth is cleared away (which takes 1d5+1 minutes) it can be discovered that this is because the older trees all perished in a fire, leaving a few charred stumps and logs behind. The undergrowth is also thicker, without the older trees to hide the sky (movement is halved).

88. The trees are all dying here, and if they are investigated (an Average Science (Nature) roll) it can be found that this is because they have been infected with some kind of rot that is liquifying them from the inside out.

89. The wind picks up and blows stronger, a cold wind that rapidly chills anyone exposed lacking suitable protection or shelter from it (arctic weather).
