100 Encounters for the Post-Apocalyptic Ocean (Mutant Future)

100 Encounters for the Post-Apocalyptic Ocean (Mutant Future)

100 Encounters for the Post-Apocalyptic Ocean (Mutant Future)Even when travelling through a post-apocalyptic land, characters will have encounters, albeit of a different and sometimes strange type. This supplement has 100 such for oceans.

The encounters are most suited for use in a post-war apocalyptic setting, where weapons of every and all types have been used. They can be used as a way to enliven a journey or as potential adventure hooks.

The supplement is also available in a system neutral version. You do not need both versions.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

34. Bobbing on the waves is a bright red float with the tattered remains of an equally red flag sticking up from it. If the float is investigated, it is made of pre-apocalyptic material and has a synthetic rope dangling below it. The rope ends a couple of dozen feet below the surface in a clean cut.

35. Bobbing up and down with the action of the waves is a human corpse. The corpse has been bloated by immersion in the water, but also has misshapen limbs. Though it has clearly been in the water for some time, nothing appears to have tried to feed on it (the corpse is mildly toxic, Class 1 poison, and radioactive, also Class 1).

36. Breaking the surface of the water is what looks like a large reef. When it is examined more closely, it proves to be made from the wrecks of at least dozens of old metal ships, now all very badly damaged and battered by the waves (nothing can be salvaged from the ships, but there are enough sharp pieces of metal that anyone searching them must make a save versus stun at -1 every 1d3 rounds or take 1d2 points of damage).
