Travelling through the hills of a fantasy setting is not free of incident; encounters can be had along the way.
This supplement has 100 encounters for hills that range from the useful to the odd to the potentially dangerous. They can be used to enliven a journey or as a source of potential adventure hooks.
The supplement is also available in a system neutral version. You do not need both versions.
To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.
Here are some sample results:
77. The hills have a fractured appearance, with cracks in the ground in many places and evidence of rockfalls and geologic activity (confirmed with a DC 10 Knowledge (geography) check).
78. The hillside is covered in a scree of fractured and broken rock that evidently tumbled down from a small cliff. The scree makes footing uncertain (DC 10 Acrobatics check every round if moving at more than half speed; failure results in falling and becoming prone).
79. The hillside is covered with what look like the marks of troops, from footprints to hoofprints, as well as spent and broken arrows. There is no other sign of a fight, and it may just have been training exercises (a DC 15 Survival check will confirm this).
