100 Fantasy Guilds

100 Fantasy GuildsIn the medieval settings so common to fantasy games, guilds play an important role, allowing individuals to group together and wield more power than any single person could.

This supplement has 100 different guilds that characters could encounter, whether as friend or foe, an organisation to join or one to buy from. With these being fantasy guilds, some of them have areas of expertise unknown in the real world, covering magical and arcane arts.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

63. Pony Traders: While their name might seem cute to most who are unfamiliar with them, anyone who’s had to dicker with a guild representative knows these horse traders are ruthless when they want something. Initially formed to help keep the Minoran pony stock (a breed favored by many rough riders and military scouts) pure, the guild has expanded over the years to include an ever-larger group of ranchers, breeders and traders who control a dozen different breeds of horseflesh.

64. Sweepers: Perhaps the least glamorous job in the city of Rasparia is keeping the streets clean. From sweeping the gutters to scrubbing away dirt and dust from the stones, this guild ensures the city remains neat and tidy. While most view the job as beneath them, those who hear about how much the Sweepers get paid (in addition to the guild stipulation that members get to keep anything they find in the course of their duties) realize why there’s no shortage of people clamoring for a position.

65. Delvers: The caverns around Mireport are said to hold wealth untold, and dangers undreamed of. Everything from the treasures of lost kingdoms, to forgotten pirate loot, is supposedly down in those caves… somewhere. As more and more self-styled adventurers met their end searching for these legendary riches, though, the Delvers were established to police the caverns. The guild also grants writs to individuals who want to explore, and obtaining such a writ is not an easy feat. While the writs aren’t exactly expensive, each one also comes with a clause that says the Delvers will receive a portion of anything an explorer brings back from the caverns.
