100 Prisoners for a Fantasy Jail

100 Prisoners for a Fantasy JailIn a fantasy setting, people still end up in jail, and these people could include the characters themselves, after running afoul of the law. Characters could be within a jail for another reason, such as trying to break an NPC out.

This supplement has 100 different characters to encounter in a jail setting. These are characters who have been locked up for legal problems, not those held captive for any other reason. They may be encountered in a town or city’s jail, or could be incarcerated into a prison specially designed to hold those with fantastic abilities.

To use the list either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

64. Wren Wrack, The Warlock of Bloody Glen: Most people tend to think of halflings as pleasant, smiling folk with good natures and simple wants. While there’s no denying that Wren belongs among the
small folk, his too-wide grin is unsettling, and his nature is far from pleasant. It’s said the long-nailed blood mage can curse someone with a look, and rot their guts with a single oath.

65. Heinhart Black: A thin stick of a man, with knobby knees and arthritis-swollen knuckles, Black was jailed for speaking sedition. Those who have listened to the rambling sermons he gives in the yard, though, often hear a far deeper meaning in his words than those who walked by him in the public square. Other prisoners, and even a few of the guards, treat him as a learned man… and as a prophet of doom.

66. “Jolly” Bard Barca: A dwarf whose hands were hardened by dozens of years swinging a pick, Bard was imprisoned for stealing no more than a handful of silver pieces. Amused at the amount of time he was given for such a little crime, he treats his imprisonment like a vacation more than a punishment. He does feel sorry for those with mortal lifespans, though, who will spend the majority of their life in this place, rather than what amounts to no more than a few seasons for someone like Bard.
