100 Prisoners to Find in a Fantasy Dungeon

100 Prisoners to Find in a Fantasy DungeonCharacters can end up spending quite a bit of time in dungeons and some of these dungeons may well hold prisoners. This supplement provides 100 different prisoners that could be found in a fantasy dungeon, rather than simple law-breakers who might be found in a jail.

Some of the prisoners are useful, or potentially so. Others may have rewards for their safe return. Some are not what they appear to be. They can be used as potential NPC replacements or as a source of adventure hooks.

To use the list, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

24. Dulgu: This brutal-looking orc is the elder son of the local leader. He has been locked up for plotting against his father and is slated for painful and prolonged execution as a result. Dulgu is actually innocent of what he has been accused of; he was set up by Targak, his younger brother, so that the latter can become the heir. Targak is currently planning his father’s assassination. Dulgu may choose to ally with the characters if he thinks they can help him regain his rightful place. Depending on how capable they are, Dulgu may or may not keep to any bargain struck.

25. Duoran: This minotaur has had his horns cut off close to their base, both to prevent him from using them and so that they could be used as alchemical ingredients. He is kept heavily restrained at all times and the reason he is still alive is to make use of his strength. Duoran is occasionally allowed out of his cell in order to do some heavy lifting for his captors. At all times he is carefully guarded to ensure he doesn’t attempt to escape. Duoran is extremely unhappy about his slavery, and the removal of his horns, and will go on an out-of-control rampage if released, but will
not attack those who freed him.

26. Edgar Drew: This human’s flesh is covered in cuts, from fully healed to raw and still bleeding. He has been cut many times and the blood from the cuts has been collected. Edgar is a mercenary with some skill as a fighter, but the constant cutting and bleeding has left him in very poor shape physically and, as the abuse has stretched out for months, not done his sanity much good either.
