100 Random Bandits to Meet

100 Random Bandits to MeetBandits are a common staple of fantasy settings that characters can frequently encounter. They may be simple foes, who ambush a party with varying degrees of success or failure, or the characters may be specifically hired to take care of a bandit problem.

In most cases, the bandit is just a bandit. This supplement provides bandits with a bit more detail to them than that. They are named and given their own foibles, making them much less one dimensional if characters interact with them in any way. They can even be a source of adventure hooks.

NPCs can be selected randomly by rolling d100 but a GM is advised to pick suitable ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

26. Vic’Tare Bellows: An imposing half-orc with scars criss-crossing his upper arms, Vic’Tare carries a leather bullwhip, and isn’t shy about using it. His true weapon is his voice, though. His leather-lunged orders can be heard no matter how loud the din of battle gets, and they tend to be far more frightening than what the taskmaster is ordering them to attack. A capable sergeant, Vic’Tare never leaves a man behind. Even if that means cutting his throat because they can’t take him with. When that duty is necessary, he makes sure that it’s his hand on the knife… he
owes them that much.
27. Sage Whitehall: A half-elf witch with a sour disposition and a thirst for vengeance, Sage first offered the shelter of her hut to the Black Adders because they’d robbed the mayor’s wife. Sage has nursed a hatred for the mayor most of her life for what he did to her father, and then to her, driving them into the wilderness. When the gang’s leader discovered this, she used it to entice Sage to join them. With her power aiding them, the Adders became a force to be reckoned with… and Sage found a new love in the gang’s leader, Priscilla Prendergast.
28. Priscilla Prendergast: A long-limbed, fine-boned woman burnt dark by the coastal sun, Priscilla could be mistaken for a dancer, if not for the scars on her knuckles and the sword at her side. A cutthroat by trade, and a lover of all life’s pleasures, she found a kindred spirit in Sage Whitehall. The two of them have made quite a name for themselves across the region, and the bounty for them has grown considerably over the years.
