100 Books on Personal Finance, Investing & Business to Find on a Bookshelf

100 Books on Personal Finance, Investing & Business to Find on a BookshelfThis is a collection of genuine books that can be found on a bookshelf. A GameMaster can use these to add some detail to a modern, or modern post-apocalyptic, setting if players ask what books they find.

The books are on the general topics of business, investing and personal finance. Each entry gives the book’s title, its author(s), date of publication and a brief summary of the contents. The books are published in the 20th and 21st centuries, with the majority being from the latter end of the 20th century onwards.

To use the books, either roll d100 for a random result or select appropriate ones manually.

Here are some sample results:

43. Parkinson’s Law by C.N. Parkinson (1958, work expands to fill the time available for its completion and companies will increase production even if this doesn’t result in more money)
44. Poor Charlie’s Almanack by Charlie Munger (2005, a collection of speeches and talks by Charlie Munger, the vice-chairman of Berkshire Hathaway, and a checklist for decision making)
45. Profiting from the World’s Economic Crisis: Finding Investment Opportunities by Tracking Global Market Trends by Bud Conrad (2010, how to profit from economic imbalances that had built up over the previous decade by tracking world market trends and finding investment opportunities that match those trends)
